2021 Volvo XC90

The 2021 Volvo XC90 has made some changes for this model year. While the midsize SUV crossover didn’t get a full makeover, mostly because it wasn’t needed, the smaller changes prove to be a huge benefit for drivers. The main changes that Volvo made to the XC90 was to make more of the features drivers love standard across all trim levels.

Volvo made other notable changes to the 2021 XC90 this year as well. The hugely popular T8 hybrid now has the Recharge name. There is also a new paint color available: Savile Gray metallic is now an option for most of the models. Other changes include the option to upgrade the speakers for the standard Bowers & Wilkins sound system. The R-Design also has a new grille look for 2021 in the form of a black gloss look.

2021 Volvo XC90-New Standard Features

The new standard features are so abundant that we would be remiss to not spend more time talking about them. These features have previously been available on the upper trim levels but out of reach for the base models. Not anymore. Volvo has made these impressive features available as standard on all of the XC90 models.

  • Front parking sensors
  • LED headlights that turn with the steering wheel
  • Wireless charging
  • High pressure headlight washers
  • Two USB ports in the back
  • Care key
All of these new standard features are added to the already impressive engine and line-up features available with the different trim levels. Volvo has also kept their commitment to luxury, function, and safety with these changes. There is still plenty of space for six passengers in addition to cargo in this stylish and comfortable third-row SUV that is packed with an already impressive lineup of features.

What is Volvo Care Key?

Volvo Care Key is amazing technology that makes safety even more accessible to parents of young drivers. This is a feature that was only available on the high trim levels but Volvo has shown their commitment to keeping their drivers safe by making this standard on every Volvo model in 2021. Care Key is exclusive to Volvo so drivers wanting this added safety feature won’t find it anywhere else. Volvo is a leader in safety and continues to prove that with every passing year. Volvos are known to be fast and zippy which is great for responsible drivers but can be dangerous for young or inexperienced drivers. This is where Volvo Care Key comes in. This innovative technology allows the primary car owner to change the top speed allowed while driving. It is intuitive and easy to use. Locking the speed and unlocking it is a breeze from the center display of any Volvo, including the XC90. The addition of this important safety feature as standard is exciting and attractive for drivers everywhere. Combined with the other new standard features, the 2021 Volvo XC90 makes the shortlist for most car buyers.
